Booking & Pick-Up

Where can I collect the campervan?


Collection is from our base in the Ochil Foothills.

Do you offer airport pick-up and drop-off?


Yes – we offer airport transfers from Edinburgh or Glasgow for £80* (subject to flight times). For hires of 7 nights or more, airport transfers are free.

Where do I leave my car during hire?


Free parking is available at our base for the duration of your hire. Vehicles are left at the owner’s risk.

What is your standard collection and return time?


Collection: from 2pm
Return: by 11am

Do you offer early pick-up or late return?


Yes, subject to availability and an additional fee. Please request this when booking.

Drivers & Insurance

What age do I need to be to drive a campervan?


Drivers must be aged 21–79 and hold a full UK, EU, Australian, or New Zealand licence for at least 2 years.

Can I hire if I have points or convictions on my licence?


Minor offences may be accepted, but please contact us before booking.

Am I insured when hiring a Highland Roamers campervan?


Yes – fully comprehensive insurance is included. Annual EU cover is also included.

Does the insurance cover our personal belongings?


No – we recommend taking out separate travel insurance for valuables.

What is the insurance excess?


Our standard excess is £750.

When will my security deposit be returned?


A £250 security deposit is taken as a holding charge on your credit card and released once the vehicle is checked back in and no damage is reported.

Campervan Features & Comfort

How many people do the campervans sleep?


Each van sleeps up to 4 people in 2 double beds.

Do your campervans have heaters?


Yes – all vans are fitted with efficient heaters to keep you cosy.

Do the campervans come with toilets or showers?


No fixed toilets are installed, but a portable camping toilet can be added as an optional extra. Showers are not included, but most campsites provide these facilities.

Do you provide bedding?


Premium bedding packs are available as an optional extra at booking.

Do the campervans come with gas?


Yes – gas is supplied for cooking and heating, and is included in your hire.

Do your vans have Wi-Fi?


Yes – Wi-Fi is available in our campervans, but coverage can be limited in the more rural parts of the Highlands. We encourage guests to embrace the opportunity for a digital detox and enjoy Scotland’s great outdoors.

Do you allow pets?


Yes – well-behaved dogs are welcome for an additional fee.

Travel & Restrictions

Is there a mileage limit?


Yes – mileage is limited to 150 miles per day. We encourage you to take your time, stop often, and soak in the stunning sights Scotland has to offer.

Can we take the camper outside the UK?


Yes – annual EU cover is included in your insurance.

How should I book ferries with a campervan?


When booking a ferry, select car/van/campervan. Please avoid choosing the motorhome option, as this usually falls under a larger and more costly category.

Support & Emergencies

What happens if I break down?

All hires include 24/7 roadside assistance. In the unlikely event of a breakdown, you’ll be supported quickly and safely.

What should I do if I cause damage to the vehicle?


Contact us immediately. We’ll guide you on next steps and handle insurance where required.

Extras & Add-Ons

Can I add extras after booking?


Yes – extras such as paddleboards, wetsuits, fire pits, or premium bedding can be added any time before your collection date.

Do you provide discount cards for camping/caravan sites?


Yes – we provide a 10% Camping & Caravan Club discount for all hires.

Policies & Payments

What is your minimum hire?


No minimum hire in mid or off-peak seasons. A 2-night minimum applies in peak season.

What is your cancellation policy?


Free cancellation is available up to 30 days before hire. Within 30 days, cancellation charges apply.
